Biografia:
Davide Santandrea, regista, sceneggiatore, tecnico di effetti speciali e animatronica, cameraman e scrittore, ha iniziato la sua carriera molto giovane nel 1982, all’età di sedici anni, incontrando personalmente il mago degli effetti speciali e dell’animatronica Carlo Rambaldi, creatore di E.T., King Kong e molti altri personaggi cinematografici.
Ha iniziato a praticare nel suo studio/laboratorio a Ferrara, apprendendo tutte le tecniche di animatronica e effetti speciali.
Dal 1983 è attivamente coinvolto nella produzione cinematografica, collaborando con i suoi amici d’infanzia e vecchi compagni di scuola Romano, Felix e Paolo, con i quali ha iniziato a girare cortometraggi amatoriali in Super 8 bianco e nero, principalmente commedie e thriller.
Alcuni titoli notevoli includono “Il Guanto Assassino” (thriller, 1983), “I Tre Maldestri” (commedia slapstick, 1983), “Suore dai Capelli Lunghi in Fuga!” (commedia slapstick, 1984), “Buffalo Tik” (western, 1984), “Tre Fattorini e Uno Pazzo” (commedia slapstick, 1984) e “Pekos Sberla” (1984).
Nel 1990 si è laureato alla Scuola di Cinema “Lumière” di Parigi.
Nel 1997 ha iniziato a lavorare come cameraman negli studi regionali Rai di Bologna.
Dal 2017 lavora nell’industria cinematografica come sceneggiatore e successivamente come regista.

Biography:
Davide Santandrea, a director, screenwriter, special effects and animatronics technician, cameraman, and writer, began his career at a very young age in 1982 when he was just sixteen.
He personally met the special effects and animatronics wizard Carlo Rambaldi, creator of E.T., King Kong, and many other cinema characters, and started practicing in his studio/laboratory in Ferrara.
From Rambaldi, young Davide acquired all the techniques of animatronics and special effects in cinema.
Since 1983, he has been actively involved in filmmaking, forming a quartet with childhood friends and old schoolmates: Romano, Felix, and Paolo. They started shooting short amateur films, mostly comedies and thrillers, on Super 8 black and white film using his homemade camera.
Some notable titles include “The Killer Glove” (thriller, 1983), “The Three Clumsy Ones” (slapstick, 1983), “Nuns with Big Hair on the Loose!” (slapstick, 1984), “Buffalo Tik” (western, 1984), “Three Butlers and a Crazy One” (slapstick, 1984), and “Pekos Sberla” (1984).
In 1990, he graduated from the “Lumière” Cinema School in Paris.
In 1997, he began working as a cameraman at the regional Rai television studios in Bologna.
Since 2017, he has been working in the film industry as a screenwriter and later as a director.
